The first two polls for partners are out. If you've been re-directed here from the polls, congratulations, YOU DID IT! Make sure you respond to both polls. Thank you so much.

The first official event for the Gloucester Harbortown Cultural District was held on May 28th 2013 at the location of one of our founding partners and cultural assets in the district, Maritime Gloucester museum on Harbor Loop.
It was packed.  The Harbortown Cultural District would not have happened without the support and commitment of leadership at the local and state level.  Many came to the event: Mayor Carolyn Kirk, Harbor Planning Director Sarah Garcia, Chief Administrative Officer James Duggan, Gloucester City Councilors Melissa Cox and Joe Ciolino (representing all the Councilors as they truly all support us), Senator Bruce Tarr, Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council representatives, Anita Walker and Meri Jenkins. Thanks to founding partners Gloucester House and Topside Grill for light refreshments, and Cape Ann Brewing Co for their artisan beer. Don't miss the next event! Click on "district photos" tab to see pictures from the event. Links for all our partners can be found on the partners list box above.

We're currently collaborating with the other Cape Ann Cultural Districts for a Massachusetts Cultural Council Adams grant that we submitted June 6, 2013. Stay tuned.
